Plant Problem Question Guidelines

The following guidelines are intended to help you to focus on the information that might be useful in identifying your problem and determining an appropriate solution. While it's not required to supply all this information when posing your question, the more information you submit, the greater the likelyhood that someone will be able to provide a useful response.

  1. Identify the plant(s) as well as you can. If you don't know its name, describe it throughly including its approximate age (see Plant Identification -- coming later).
  2. Describe the problem in detail.
  3. Describe your current "cultural practices"; irrigation, fertilization, pesticide use, and cultivation practice.
  4. Describe your soil conditions (see Soil Page -- coming later).
  5. Identify your location (Carlsbad, Poway, etc.) and describe the area (coastal, inland valley, mountain, etc.)
  6. Identify the climate zone and describe the microclimate experienced by the plant (see Climate Page).
